Design & Construction
Our approach to the perfect fit begins with structure. We treat patternmaking as an engineering discipline, noting that in garment design, comfort needs to be embedded into the garment through structure and testing. We map body lines, movement, and load points to create garments that hold form, maintain stability, and move without friction. Seams, curves, and panel lines are placed with intent, refined through controlled prototyping and technical adjustment until each component performs as it should. Every piece is manufactured in Cape Town by a dedicated CMT team made up almost entirely of women. Their technical expertise reflects decades of practice and the legacy of the city’s garment industry. We do not rush development, and we do not compromise on make. Each garment represents a deliberate process: engineered pattern work, rigorous testing, and skilled local manufacturing grounded by the highest standards.
Cotton Care Guide
Our pieces are made from natural cotton in weights ranging from 160gsm to 200gsm. GSM (grams per square metre) refers to fabric density; a measure of weight and structure.
160gsm offers a lighter, breathable feel with natural stretch — ideal for everyday comfort and warmer days, while 200gsm provides a denser hand-feel with increased structure and longevity — designed for cooler weather and layered wear.
To preserve softness, shape, and colour of your natural cotton, we recommend:
- Cold gentle machine wash
- Wash inside out to protect fibres and surface finish
- Use mild detergent; avoid bleach and harsh chemicals
- Air dry flat or hang dry; avoid tumble drying where possible
- Cool iron on reverse as needed (do not iron prints directly)
Natural fibres soften subtly with wear and washing; settling into the body and rhythm of daily life. Caring with intention extends lifespan and performance, allowing cotton to do what it does best: breathe, move, and remain comfortable against the skin.

Nothing leaves our studio without being signed off by a dedicated quality custodian, ensuring consistency you can feel from the first wear to the fiftieth.
