Design & Construction
Our approach to the perfect fit begins with structure. We treat patternmaking as an engineering discipline, noting that in garment design, comfort needs to be embedded into the garment through structure and testing. We map body lines, movement, and load points to create garments that hold form, maintain stability, and move without friction. Seams, curves, and panel lines are placed with intent, refined through controlled prototyping and technical adjustment until each component performs as it should. Our commitment to creating trusted, premium essentials means these are the everyday pieces you reach for first; dependable and considered.
Every piece is manufactured in Cape Town by a dedicated CMT team made up almost entirely of women. Their technical expertise reflects decades of practice and the legacy of the city’s garment industry. Working closely together, we translate precision patterning into consistent, high-quality construction; you can read more about our relationship with this wonderful team here.
We do not rush development, and we do not compromise on make. Each garment represents a deliberate process: engineered pattern work, rigorous testing, and skilled local manufacturing grounded by the highest standards.
We are extremely proud of our quality control.
Every garment passes through human hands; every seam, stitch, and finish is individually inspected for integrity and comfort. Nothing leaves our studio without being signed off by a dedicated quality custodian, ensuring consistency you can feel from the first wear to the fiftieth. This level of care takes time, but it’s non-negotiable: your essentials should be as reliable and beautifully made as the life you live in them.
