Our underwear is made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex, using 160GSM cotton-lycra fabric. It is not pure cotton, and we prefer to be clear about that instead of letting search terms create the wrong impression.
What Is Actually in the Fabric?
Underwear made from 100% cotton doesn't have enough stretch fibres. While that might sound perfect, it is hard to find underwear that keeps its shape after many washes without some stretch. Our underwear uses combed cotton for 95% of the fabric, with a small amount of spandex added to keep their shape and do not become loose. The spandex provides stretch and recovery, helping the garment maintain its fit and shape. Cotton is the main material, and spandex is only used where needed.

That is a specific, checkable claim, not a marketing word. We will not call anything toxin free, because that promises more than any textile certification actually tests for. Free from harmful substances is accurate. Toxin free is not. This matters more in underwear than almost anywhere else in your wardrobe, simply because of how much time it spends against skin.

Every piece is made in Cape Town, which lets us stay close to construction quality rather than outsourcing it to a factory we have never walked into with people working on the garments who we don’t know the names of.
